What is One Day Choir Helsinki?
One Day Choir Helsinki is an immersive three-hour singing experience where shared voices and collective creativity transform a room full of strangers into a community through music and human connection.
During the afternoon we will:
One Day Choir Helsinki is a participatory singing event. You don’t need any previous experience just curiosity and a willingness to join in.

Saaramaija Żórawski and Katja Maria Slotte
Saaramaija Żórawski
Saaramaija Żórawski is a music creator, multi-instrumentalist, artist-facilitator and Master of Culture and Arts (Music Pedagogy). Her work brings together composition, community art, participatory music practices and cultural wellbeing.
She has composed and released her own music, created film scores, and developed participatory music projects in settings including the HUS Cancer Center, residential care homes, and international networks in the fields of culture and health.
Her goal is to create musical experiences where everyone can participate, find their own voice, and experience the power of music as part of a community.
Katja Maria Slotte
Katja Maria Slotte is a singer, musician, choir director, artist-facilitator, vocal coach and music educator (Sibelius Academy). She has built an international career spanning more than 25 years as a performer, artistic facilitator, creative process mentor and teacher, including at Codarts University for the Arts in Rotterdam. She has coached singers and actors in theatre and musical theatre productions, and guided artistic processes for individual artists and communities.
In her work, technical expertise, artistic expression and human connection always go hand in hand. She specialises in collective vocal improvisation, Circle Singing methods, creative process facilitation, participatory choir work and rhythmic choral singing
Katja’s aim is to create musical experiences where people can connect with one another and discover that together, we can create something that would not be possible alone..
