Katja Maria Slotte

Artist, Creative Mentor & Facilitator

Creative mentoring and facilitation for singers and artists bringing their vision to life.

Most artists and creatives don’t struggle with vision. They struggle with what it takes to live it.

Turning creative vision into a sustainable lived reality is rarely a question of talent, ideas or ambition alone. It is also about how identity, time, focus, and creative energy are structured in everyday life.

My work supports artists in navigating this space – helping them clarify their direction, strengthen their relationship to their creative work and voice, and build the conditions in which their artistic practice can take form and be sustained.

In practice, this leads to clearer artistic direction, more aligned work, and the ability to prioritise and complete meaningful creative projects.

Hi there, I’m Katja.

I’m Katja Maria Slotte – an artist, musician, and creative mentor with over 25 years of international experience in singing, performance, teaching, and creative facilitation.

My own artistic life has always been shaped by a multi-hyphenate creative practice – moving between singing, music-making, performance, teaching, facilitation, and artistic collaboration across different contexts and traditions.

Rather than choosing a single path, I have learned how to bring greater clarity, inner leadership, and intentional structure to the many strands of my creative life. This ongoing process has shaped how I work, create, and make decisions as an artist.

This lived experience, together with over 25 years of artistic practice and formal training in music, vocal pedagogy, creativity coaching, and creative entrepreneurship, informs my work with artists who are ready to bring greater clarity, intention, and momentum to their creative work.

Each process is highly personalised and shaped around the realities of the person I’m working with – their aspirations, creative ambitions, and the circumstances in which they are creating.

At the core of my approach is a combination of curiosity, artistic exploration, and practical grounding. I support people in moving beyond perfectionism and self-doubt, and into greater confidence, creative direction, and purposeful action.

Alongside my one-to-one work, I facilitate vocal improvisation, choir leadership, and participatory creative experiences. Through singing, improvisation, and collective practice, I create spaces where creativity becomes something shared – fostering connection, presence, collaboration, and a deeper sense of belonging.

WORK WITH ME

Artist Deep Dives

For artists, musicians, performers, creative entrepreneurs, and multi-passionate creatives who are ready to bring greater clarity, structure, and momentum to their creative work.

Artist Deep Dives are highly personalised mentoring partnerships that draw on creativity coaching, artist mentoring, creative facilitation, and, where relevant, voice and performance coaching.

The length and focus of each 1:1 Deep Dive are shaped around the vision, projects, and aspirations you are working towards. Some artists come with a specific creative project they want to bring into the world. Others are seeking greater clarity, momentum, and alignment across their artistic work, creative practice, and professional life, including reshaping their creative business so it better supports their artistic ambitions and the life they want to build.

Together, we create the clarity, structure, and support that allow meaningful projects, sustainable creative work, and long-term artistic growth to flourish. Most clients work with me for between 6 and 24 months. The aim is not only to complete projects, but to build a creative life that can sustain and support your work over the long term.

What artists are saying

Selected reflections from artists I’ve worked with

Judith Westerveld

Singer-Songwriter, Voice & Self-Expression Coach

Working with Katja, things shifted on many levels. I reconnected with playfulness, which spread into my whole life. My creative flow expanded, and I wrote two albums.

My singing became gentler, more expressive and dynamic. I found my own sound, aligned with the stories I want to tell, and my vocal range expanded. Singing started feeling easier, more connected, and more alive.

I fully embraced my artist identity and expanded my artistry in a way that feels authentic and grounded.

A lot of limiting beliefs around teaching and creative work shifted. My income doubled – while I’m doing way less than before!

Leela May Stokholm

Multidisciplinary Artist & Embodied Voice Coach

“I decided to work with Katja at a point where I had many ideas as an artist, but was struggling to organise myself and take the next step in a way that felt authentic and sustainable.

Through our work together, I began to transform creative inspiration into clearer direction and workable systems. What had felt like overwhelm and avoidance gradually shifted into clarity, focus, and a more grounded way of moving forward in my work and life.

I learned to create structure, build strong foundations, and develop ways of working that helped me turn ideas into action while maintaining balance and momentum. Over time, I became more able to support myself through periods of transition and uncertainty, and to make decisions with greater clarity and confidence.

A key shift was recognising that growth for me is not defined by external measures of success, but by a sense of inner stability, alignment, and sustainability in how I live and create.

Working with Katja supported me in building a more grounded and sustainable way of living as a creative entrepreneur – one that allows me to continue evolving without losing myself in the process.”

Simone Schutten

Singer-Songwriter, Vocal Artist & Music Educator

“I wanted to bring more flow into my artistry. I had a desire to write and share my own music, but struggled to find the focus and momentum to make it happen.

Through my work with Katja, I began a songwriting journey, started sharing my songs publicly, and gained greater clarity about the direction I wanted to grow – both as a songwriter and in my broader creative work.

I also made meaningful changes to how I structure my days, creating more space for rest, creativity, and presence. This helped me reconnect with myself as an artist and trust my own creative process more deeply.

Most importantly, I learned to listen to the person behind all the doing. As I became more connected to my inner flow, creativity began to feel less forced and more natural. I started singing again, exploring my voice more deeply, and creating from a place of greater trust, freedom, and authenticity.”

Saskia Bak

Singer-Songwriter & Artist Development Coach

“After more than five years of running my own business as a vocal coach, I wanted guidance on how to strategically evolve and improve different aspects of my work.

Working with Katja helped me gain clarity around my desires, audience, pricing, and business structure, while also finding a healthier balance between my different roles as an artist and teacher.

At the same time, I was able to release a great deal of overwhelm and resistance to change. I now experience more ease in my work, more space in my schedule for rest and higher-energy clients, and a greater sense of relaxation in both body and mind.

One of the things I value most is Katja’s ability to hold the bigger picture. Her insight, thoughtful assignments, and accountability helped me focus on the small shifts that create meaningful and lasting change.

The result has been a way of working that feels more aligned, sustainable, and enjoyable, both as an artist and as a creative entrepreneur.”
